I have hit the weight-loss plateau in my work out routine. What do I do?
So my workout routine is this- 30 min of cardio (usually eliptical at 230 watts) m-f and then I alternate muscle groups daily, but I lift weight for another 30 min. On saturdays, I attend a body pump class. During my cardio, I burn between 450 and 500 calories, and I sweat like crazy. I don’t want to increase my cardio more than 150 min a week, because personal trainers have advised me not to. I try to work abs a little bit everyday. I am doing a lower calorie diet (1500-1700 a day), and I try to eat something every 2 or 3 hours to keep my metabolism up. I lost 20lbs in 2 months, and now I can’t seem to loose any more weight. I want to loose weight naturally (meaning I don’t take weight-loss supplements) so I just stick to a daily multi-vitamin. I only want to loose like 2 lbs a week or so, and not much more. So what should I do to start loosing weight again?? I’m stuck… Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)
Ok, some things I forgot… I turn 21 this month, and I already eat alot of fresh fruits and vegatables, and alot of chicken breast because of the low fat and high protein content.
How does burning Kcal actually translate into weight loss?
So I’ve started doing "measurable" aerobic workouts that say I’ve burned 393 Kcal over the course of my workout routine. That sounds good and all, except I have no clue what that actually translates to in terms of weight loss. 393 Kcal sounds like a lot and all, but am I doing enough at a time to be effective? What is the average amount of Kcal I’d need to burn to be loosing weight? Is there a type of formula I can use to calculate it?
How long after you start a new excercise plan before you start to see some weight loss?
I started working out at the gym about a month ago. Prior to that I had no workout routine. I’m 5’2.5" and weigh 145lbs. So I went from no excercise to working out at least 4 times a week, for about an hour to an hour and a half each time. I use the treadmill at an incline, and two different eliptical machines. I know my heart rate is raised; I work up a good sweat by the time I leave! I don’t eat fast food, no chips, cookies or candy. I know my calorie intake for the day is about 1500 or less. Well, after a month I still haven’t seen any weight loss. I know it takes time but how long before I see even a couple pounds drop?!
What do you think of this for helping me diet?
Ok so, I’ve read that if you do someting for 21 days straight, it becomes habit. With all this stress from schooling starting, losing weight, and other personal stuff, the thought of dieting just makes me want to throw rocks at a wall. BUT, I must lose 30 lbs! So, I’ve been thinking, since for the past 7 months Ive unsuccesfully dieted and lost no weight, I figure I’ll stop stressing about the food for right now and just get myself into a workout routine that I’ll get used to and then it’s not like piling all the stress on at once, but gradually putting on more, you know? So I figure if I can get myself to do my workout routine and eat whatever I want, then after 21 days I’ll add on the diet, I’ll be more apped to want to do this for myself and I’ll stick with the diet for much longer. Do you agree or think this is all rubbish?
How do you get an athletic v shaped body?
I’ve admired the athletic type body with big shoulders, ripped arms and abs, and the big chest and well developed back. I need a workout routine that I could do to attain such a body. I’m currently doing plyometrics and running to bring my body fat down.
How to maintain weight after weight loss?
I’ve reached my weight loss goal and i wanna maintain my weight now. I currently weigh 95 lbs at 5’1. I do 60minutes of cardio 5 times a week and 2-3 times of strength training a week. I do yoga too! I used to take in 1200-1400 calories when i was dieting. Should i increase my calorie intake if i wanna maintain my weight now? Should i reduce, maintain or increase my workout routine? Help please, thank you!
