My doctor is considering prescribing me meridia for weight loss is this good or is there something better?
I read a few reviews of the side effects and am a little concerned she mentioned this one and another one she might put me on but I cant remember the name of the other one I was just wondering if there was another weight loss pill that maybe didn’t have as harsh of side effects.
I used to way 175 and I decided I didn’t want to be that misserable anymore I would just eat subway no condiments, and smoothie king I was working out several hours a day swimming, light weights lots of reps, eliptical for 45 min. I got down to 130 slowly decreased the excersise to get to maintenace and watched what I ate I went up to 135-140. I was comfortable with that because I am latina naturally curvy, hips, thighs etc. Well I managed to stay there for two years in august of last year is was like I hit a wall I went from 140 to weighing 200 lbs. by december. I have been increasing my work out cutting carbs, no sodas, I have been cycling 3 days aweek for 2 hrs and hicking 2 days a week for 3 hrs. I am slightly feeling results I eat 3 solid meals a day it is hard to count calories because my boss buys me breakfast usually from MCD’s so I get the fruit and yogurt parfait, I usually do a salad for lunch with low fat or fat free. and for dinner I try to grab a meat with some veggies.
Weight Loss anti-motivation?
I’m not talking about a case of anorexia or anything like that. I have lost a lot of weight over the year. I am still in the overweight category though. I need to lose about 15 more pounds to be at a healthy weight. Anyway, my mother is like the weight loss villain. She tells me not to exercise too much and to eat more! I eat toast and cereal for breakfast. For dinner, I have a 250 cal six inch sub from Subway. All I like to drink is water. I eat very healthy, but she tries to ruin it. A month or so ago, she pretty much nagged me to death to drink orange juice with my breakfast. So, I reluctantly started doing that, because she kept going at it! I absolutely hate the taste, but until now I just drank it so she would shut up. I noticed, I gained two pounds from it! That’s when I weighed myself two weeks after started. I haven’t weighed myself recently, because I’m scared I gained more! I’m not going to drink orange juice anymore. I don’t care if she nags! Every time I look tired she’s like "You’re hungry..you should have something to eat." even if I just got done eating! I’ll say "How do you know I’m hungry huh? Stop it!" It’s my life and I want to be healthy! I can only drink water if I want. I’m also going to cut out cereal now and I’m going to add another half hour to running each day. I can’t stand this. She’s trying to make me unhealthy, just like her! All she eats is junk like fast food and pop. It’s disgusting and I refuse to end up like her. I have no one to motivate me except myself. You know, I wish my mom would actually care about my health, but she would rather she me die from heart disease I guess, right? :( Or maybe her hope is that when I’m her age, I will start breathing hard from just walking slow in the mall. Sorry, I just feel so angry right now.
Can anyone else relate? Can you help me out too? :(
By the way, I’m a 16 year old girl who weighs 156 pounds at 5’4. :( She makes me drink SIMPLY orange juice. She kept claiming it was so healthy, and I would respond "No…it has sugar and a bunch of calories!" She’s so stupid and would say "sugar has no calories"…and "Simply orange juice doesn’t have any sugar..it’s natural" She just tricks me! Isn’t that what she’s doing? She’s absolutely tricking me telling me the juice is healthy with "vitamins" and that it will improve my health! I finally blew up today and decided to never listen to her ever again. How would she know anyway? She’s obese for Pete’s sake. I guess I just listened to her, because she’s my mom. Mother’s are suppose to take care of their children, not do the opposite!
How can I make my diet routine more effective?
I have been eating a piece of fruit for breakfast (9am) a snack,(11am) usually a yogurt or slimfast muffin bar with an apple juice. For lunch (12:30 or 1:00pm) a 6inch from Subway *not a meal with chips and soda* around 3 I have another snack, fruit. I go to the gym for 6, run 30 mins and a few machines. Now, my problem lies with dinner, it always varies and I’m looking for some good ideas. Dinner is usually around 7 or 8 to prevent myself from snacking later. Any tips for working more exercise into my day would be apppreciated as well or reducing my hunger from dinner until breakfast. So far, I have lost 4lbs in 2 weeks of this routine. for my third week, I’d like to lose 2lbs or more, if possible. I am not looking for a crash diet, just a way to work my schedule with the diet and exercise to maintain weight loss until i reach my goal of 10-15lbs.
