Average woman’s knowledge about the morning-after pill?
I’m currently a virgin, but I’ve recently been looking into contraceptive options for when I DO lose my virginity. I don’t want to start using birth control pills, for fear that my mother will become suspicious (I’ll be 18 soon, but I’m still living under her roof for another year). I’ve decided that condoms are a must, but I want a back-up plan in case a condom doesn’t work — my sister became pregnant when the condom her boyfriend used broke. I’ve done light research on the morning-after pill, but I want to know what’s it’s all about from women who have used it. If you’ve used a morning-after pill, please tell me about obtaining them. I know they are under-the-counter products at pharmacies, but how do you ask for them? How much did it cost? What side effects did you experience, if any? Thank so much in advance if you can answer any of these questions.
I'm very confused as to where my period is…?
Hi there,
I was just wondering if anyone out there would be able to help me out here… I’m 16 years old and have been in an active sexual relationship for the past three months, and today is exactly 8 days after my period should be due. I know straight away that’s ringing alarm bells for pregnancy and what not, so on the first day my period was due I took a home pregnancy test which told me I wasn’t pregnant. Obviously I was relieved, but my period still had not come. I took another home pregnancy test (different brand as well), 4 days later and again the result was not pregnant. By this stage I wasn’t worrying too much, just waiting for my period to come (which it still hasn’t) but today is the 8th day after I am due for my period. I took another pregnancy test (a different brand to the previous two) about half an hour ago, and yet again the result is not pregnant.
Now, I guess I’m getting a little paranoid.. where is my period and why is it so late?
About one week after my last period, I had taken the morning after pill after suspicion the condom might have leaked. I haven’t received it since then, it couldn’t be a side effect could it?
Also, I’m noticing a bit of a discharge in my underwear that smells slightly of chlorine… please help :)
Can a girl get pregnant the day before her period?
My girlfriend and I had sex with a condom the day before she was supposed to get her period. The condom broke, but I didn’t ejaculate yet. I stopped and put on a new condom. The next day, she got her period as expected and is still having it two days later.
I’ve been reading that it is very unlikely for a woman to get pregnant the day before her period, since fertility is usually in the middle (around day 11-16) of her cycle. I am just worried because she told me of pain in her stomach, and she threw up. She said these are unusual symptoms to go along with her period.
Although I did not see any ejaculate when the condom broke and I wasn’t close to orgasm, I am still worried about the possibility of her getting pregnant. It will take about another 2 weeks before we can use an at-home pregnancy test, but it is too late to use emergency contraception like the morning after pill.
What is the liklihood that she is pregnant, and is there anything to do about it at this stage?
My girlfriend’s period ended Thursday, and we had sex yesterday, Friday.
She experienced some spotting last night, the day we had sex. Does this mean she’s pregnant? We could use Plan B for yesterday’s intercourse, but not for the one I was initially concerned about, right?
On birth control, but didn't use a condom every time we had intercourse?
My boyfriend and I had sex about a week ago. I’ve been taking the birth control pill for a year. I only missed the pill for a week (during the placebo pills) because of a surgery. My period came early because of surgery and lasted longer than normal, which the birth control helped control. The surgery happened January 29 2010. I’ve almost done with the last week (placebo pills) of the pack I started afterwards. Does the fact that I missed the placebo pills matter?
We had sex a few times and didn’t use the condom all the time and he finished inside. I’ve been taking my pills for 3 solid weeks and am on the placebo pills now. We got a little nervous after we had sex and agreed to get the morning after pill just in case. I haven’t stopped or missed anypills for a month, and I took the bc pills in addition to the morning after pill and we purchased the pill within 24 hours. Less than 24 hours actually.
How likely would it be to be pregnant?
Or is my system just a little thrown off from when I had surgery? Or is it from the morning after pill??
We are both in the early stages of college and currently in a long distance relationship. I lost my virginity to him, and we both are clear of any diseases. We are young, and have been together for some time now and the long distance relationship. We see eachother every couple months for 3 days at least. Like I said we are both clear of any infections or diseases, and we know that with sex there is always the possibility of pregnancy. We’ve sat down and talked about the possibility of pregnancy. If it were to happen we would stay together and work through it, and we’d find a way to make it work if it happened. Although we would prefer for it not to happen yet, we at least have a plan just in case.
I know everyone will say the only way to prevent it is to not have sex, but we do, and will. Only a couple times every 2-3 months. We both also know people will say why risk it or go through that when we’re at our age, and whatever else they may say, but long story short we are crazy in love with eachother and like soulmates. We have a plan to move in together and eventually get married, so we are truly committed to eachother.
If I’ve been taking the birth control correctly and we had unprotected sex and he finished inside, then took the morning after pill within 24 hours of having sex, what are the chances of pregnancy??
Is there anywhere I can register anti-abortion in UK?
If anyone knows somewhere I can register my view as anti-abortion, please let me know.
There are no excuses for murder in this day & age. Mental health is a stupid excuse, my mental health suffers from it going on. If your life is physically in danger IE cancer r only excuse. As some1 who has been raped. I know rape is no excuse. If u face this, u know it can lead 2 pregnancy & take the morning after pill straight away, if u do not want 2 get pregnant. 2 stop conception from happening. I am peed off @ people claiming rape & u know they weren’t.
And people claiming a child will ruin their life. What they mean is whoa is me, I won’t b able to afford that jacuzzi I had my eye on. If your bf leaves u, who cares, your child won’t. Two parents does not equal happy child, believe me, I know.
To protect a child being born ill & suffering! Doctors make mistakes, they r not Gods. + people can surprise u, its instinct to want to survive. Drugs after full gestation can take away pain.
Morning After Pills while ovulating…?
According to my ovulation calculator I’ve been ovulating April 15th to the 20th. This morning my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex and while pulling out he’s convinced he got "one squirt" in me and with today being the 18th, I’m afraid I will conceive. He wants to consider getting the morning after pill but a lot of the information sites about it says it delays ovulation in order to prevent the pregnancy. But since I’m already ovulating, will it still work? I’m extremely sensitive when it comes to any form of birth control and I’m afraid I will get really sick from the morning after pill, however I’m not really ready to start a family yet. Since I’m already ovulating should I still consider taking the morning after pill or should I not even bother?
Today is the 19th not the 18th, sorry.
