Any Suggestions On This Bothersome Lifelong Female Issue?

I have a overly sensitive PH balance of the vagina. Since I was a teenager, I have been prone to bacteria infections and urinary tract infections. I can’t wear tampons, rarely ever douche, can’t use feminine sprays, powders, anything without developing a bacteria infection (BV) or urinary tract infection. Now that I’m getting a little bit older, I’m finding this will pose an issue because of my body lacking the ability to naturally lube itself. I now have to use over-the-counter lube. Recently, I went to the GYNO and it tested positive for BV (bacterial infection), which I know is due to douching and Vaseline (lube). I have to get on antibiotics AGAIN before I develop a urinary tract infection from this. I’m a little worried about not being able to use over-the-counter products without developing infections. Does anyone have suggestions on clinically safe lube products made for women who are prone to bacterial infections/urinary tract infections? I’m worried that unless my partner doesn’t step up foreplay throughout sex to get me naturally lubed, the only other way around such infections is not to have sex at all. Suggestions?
@ Katrina: These are some great suggestions….going all natural. I’ll take the dose of antibiotics as the doc ordered to bring the bad bacteria levels down ( as they claim…Lol) but after that I’m gonna try natural solutions. Love the homemade douche ingredients. Lol! I honestly never thought of that. Thank you so much!!!

I have hit the weight-loss plateau in my work out routine. What do I do?

So my workout routine is this- 30 min of cardio (usually eliptical at 230 watts) m-f and then I alternate muscle groups daily, but I lift weight for another 30 min. On saturdays, I attend a body pump class. During my cardio, I burn between 450 and 500 calories, and I sweat like crazy. I don’t want to increase my cardio more than 150 min a week, because personal trainers have advised me not to. I try to work abs a little bit everyday. I am doing a lower calorie diet (1500-1700 a day), and I try to eat something every 2 or 3 hours to keep my metabolism up. I lost 20lbs in 2 months, and now I can’t seem to loose any more weight. I want to loose weight naturally (meaning I don’t take weight-loss supplements) so I just stick to a daily multi-vitamin. I only want to loose like 2 lbs a week or so, and not much more. So what should I do to start loosing weight again?? I’m stuck… Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)
Ok, some things I forgot… I turn 21 this month, and I already eat alot of fresh fruits and vegatables, and alot of chicken breast because of the low fat and high protein content.

How long will my weight loss goal take?

I am trying to lose ten lbs and lately I’ve been walking after dinner at night. Usually 6 miles total. 3 miles and then 3 miles back. I stopped drinking soda and going to fast food places too. I am trying to drink more water, although it’s hard to get back into that routine but I’m not doing too bad. I’ve seen a little bit of a weight loss like around my jaw area and near my shoulders but nothing too drastic right now. How long will I start shedding more weight? Thanks

How to enhance a young woman's libido?

I’m a 22 year old female with flat out no sex drive. What really finished it off (there wasn’t much there in the first place) was birth control. Even after trying two different birth controls, it’s just not there. I’ve read a little bit about a product by Emerita, but it seems like its geared towards postmenopausal women. I’ve also read about her-enhancement, but it’s too damned expensive. Advice on an effective, natural product that might be more effective for young women that is affordable for a college student? Also, does birth control affect enhancement supplements?

How TRUE is this paragraph?

"Pads are great for girls who aren’t very experienced with their anatomy as they are easy to figure out. Tampons are good for girls who want to get to know about their bodies a little more and to have comfortable protection (Great for athletic girls!). You also forgot to mention menstrual cups! Menstrual cups are great for girls who have had about 2 years of experience with tampons first as the menstrual cups require more knowledge about your anatomy. I highly recommend cups to girls who have had a minimum of 2 years of tampon experience because they’re healthier for you, environmentally friendly, cheaper in the long run, and they’re more reliable than tampons AND pads both!

Most women don’t know this (and it’s quite sad…) but tampons/pads contain harmful chemicals like Dioxin, Rayon, and Bleach. Feminine hygeine manufacturers think that we, as women, need white and pure products to consider them clean so they bleach their products white. The problem with this is that Dioxin is produced during the bleaching process and dioxin is potentionally carcinogenic (associated with cancer!). The risk is incredibly higher if you use tampons since they are worn internally. Rayon is also a highly absorbent substance that is derived from wood pulp. Rayon harms the vagina because it’s so highly absorbent that it absorbs the natural discharge of the vagina and it also upsets the vagina’s natural moisture balance. Menstrual cups don’t do this because they are made from 100% hypoallergenic medical-grade silicone (like the DivaCup, Lunette, and MoonCup!). The DivaCup is also approved by the FDA. If you want to know more go to their websites or google "livejournal menstrual cup" and a bunch of links pop up. To find out more about the harms of tampons go to the FDA’s website. Also, if you still love tampons and want to continue using them – I recommend switching to the safe brand of tampons called Natracare. They’re made of 100% cotton and they don’t have a TSS risk. I’m a little bit youngr than you and a virgin and I use it, so if you’re interested than you can try one, too."

I use Tampax pearl regular sented. ive never heard you can get infections from sented, ive only started using them 2 days ago, is it okay if i finish the box then go to unsented? thanks!

What to do after shaving?

Like most women, I shave my legs, underarms, as well as my bikini and pubic area. I have found a little bit of irritation after shaving and I was wondering what was best to use after shaving?

I do have in my possession Jergen’s Naturals Soothe lotion which is a lotion that contains chamomile and soy extracts. Is that safe to use after shaving especially on my bikini/pubic area?
What products would you recommend?
Thank-you
