I’m dressing up in a 70s costume this year for halloween, and I need make up ideas to complete the look. I don’t normally wear make up, so it has to be something that can be applied easy. In those days, did black women wear bright and bold make up? shimmery? plain? pastels? tons of eye shadow or no eye shadow? eyeliner and mascara? did their eyeshadow color match their outfit? help!

I have noticed it a lot that black women do a strange neck dance while talking or taunting etc….it is strange but why do they do it?

By the way, I’m black….
Sometimes, it gets ridiculous, whenever I’m around black women they are always talking about someone’s weave, extensions, etc. It gets annoying and when another black women walks in they are always trying to see if her hair is real or not. Why do we care so much? Why is it such a big deal? Aren’t there other things to be concerned about then hair?

Can anyone please give me a list of salons that specializes in black women hair in the Daytona Beach area.Thank you!

I’ve noticed out of all the black women in my family (and those I grew up with), it seems like a constant life struggle for black women to grow their hair out. Is it cause we try too hard? Relaxers? Micros? Diet? I know for a fact its not genetics cause everyone’s hair grows around the same rate, regardless of race, but why Black Women?

Has anyone else noticed that black women are starting to wear their natural hair on TV commercials more often (wearing curly fros) instead of relaxing it and wearing it straight? Why do you think this is?
