My doctor prescribed me Wellbutrin, take one 75mg tab in the AM and a second 75mg tab before 5pm. I’ve read the literature that comes with the prescription as well as the internet but have not read where it is prescribed to patients to help weight loss. I probably could use the help from the anti-depressant but I am far more worried about my weight at the moment. So, I’m wanting to know if anyone has been given this medication for the purpose of weight loss and if it helped, etc. Thanks!

I have a cousin who has been suffering from severe depression for many years. We ar both the same age in our (50′s) and depression runs in our family. But the mediciations seems to work good for me. and not for her. She has taken just about every kind of anti-depressant on the market. They may help her for a while and then they she just slips back into the real severe depressed state. She wants to be alone. Does not want to go out and does not want to even talk on the phone when she is bad off.

Her doctor has recommended ECT as a last resort. But, we are trying to find her some alternative treatment. Surely in this day and age their must be thearpy or treatments that are less invasive? What other options does she have. Please do not respond to this unless you are a professional in the medical field. She has tons of counseling. She need medical help!

my fiance is on an anti-depressant she says kills her sex drive. we have sex maybe once every 2 weeks or so… if i’m lucky. usually its about once a month unless theres a special occasion thrown in there. were both 23 so age is definitely not a factor. my previous gf and i had sex at least 5 times a week, with oral thrown in there a few times a week as well. i am attracted to her, not as much as past gfs but when i considered marriage other things were more important. so i guess what i’m asking is if any other girls who are on an anti-depressants have their sex drive killed too? the particular one she is on is lexapro.

I was diagnosed with clinical depression since the age of 14 but I have been unhappy as far back as I remember. I have tried EVERY anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication under the sun and although they take a little of the edge off, they are by no means a cure. I am 35 now and my dark feelings and sadness are worse than they have ever been. I have tried therapy, psychiatry, meditation, self-help books, group counseling, even bio-feedback with absolutely no change. Whatever is wrong with my brain chemistry prevents me from drinking alcohol or smoking weed to help me relax. I have suffered from low self-esteem all my life because I have always hated the way I look. I am very unattractive and have suffered with acne through my teens and 20s and now in my 30s I am going bald! Because of my depression I have let my body go as I have no energy to do productive and positive things. I waste a month on a gym membership I don’t use. I sleep usually 12-15 hours a day and am always exhausted. I suffer from insomnia and have vivid nightmares. I was raised Catholic but now am pretty much an atheist and without any faith, I feel I am REALLY screwed! The funny thing is that I have never been suicidal, however, I truly no longer wish to live as I don’t enjoy life anymore. My mom died 9 years ago and I am an only child. No family or friends. HELP!!!

am wondering if my dosage is high for my age, weight, and height. Ive been doing some research on the internet, now knowing zoloft is a major anti depressant, I feel I may be on a high dose. I am 16 year old girl, I weigh 117 pounds and I am 5’7. My dosage is 125 mg once a day. I also take some anti-anxietys, the reason I have these issues is because I am in recovery from anorexia (3 months stable weight! woot woot)
Hah, I dont mean I think its gonna get me high, Im wondering if I am on an abnormaly high dose.

Ok, I have not had my period in 6 months, never had sex and don’t plan on it at such a young age.
This has happened before, except I went about 5 months without a period.

Now, I have been EXTREMELY emotional, I can barley drop something without wanting to cry. People say things and it makes me angry, just people being around me makes me angry.

Now, should I go to the doctor about my period?
Is my period affecting my emotions?
And is my hormone balance out of wack because of everything?

NOTE: I take anti-depressants, I am on them for anxiety, I took these before I had the period problems, so I am sure it is not any anti-depressant thing. In fact, the only side effect is dizziness so, I am not worried about my anti-depressant.
