question about periods…?
im 17, and on my period.. i just looked in the mirror and my whole lower tummy looks puffed out like as if it would look during early stages of pregnancy. i know i am not pregnant lol because i have not missed a period at all. but the other day i was skinny as could be, and i eat healthy so i couldnt have gained weight that fast. am i puffed out bcuz im bloated? usually when people say they are "bloated" they just feel bloated, but nobody can really tell that they actually look larger. is it possible for bloating due to periods to actually be visible? :/ is this normal?
It’s perfectly normal. A common effect of having your period is water retention which can cause abdominal bloating. You can gain as much as 1-2 pounds of water! Don’t worry. once your period is over you’ll go back to normal. Women who exercise report less symptoms during their period. Also try avoiding salt in your diet to avoid further water retention. One last thing, Over the counter PMS medication like midol usually contain a mild diuretic (drug that causes your kidneys to get rid of water) which will help with the bloating.
Hope this helps. Good Luck
Yes, you’re just retaining water therefore you’re bloated. Should go down when you’re done on your period.
ya dont worry.. I think you have water retention because of ur periods…. Try drinking more water during the day and that shud help with it… should be better by the end of your period.. if your tummy stays that way even after u finish ur periods try drinking 2 to 3 liters of water a day for a few days and that should get u better :D:D
last week i started drinking 3 liters of water a day and my tummy looked lsmaller.. i was sooo haappyyy :D:D:D.try it out :D:D:D
Yeah its normal, your just bloated. I get bloated sometimes and its noticeable. The bloating will probably go away when your period ends or maybe sooner. You can take midol if its really bothering you. There are few kinds, some of them help with bloating like Midol Complete or Midol Teen.
It’s called being bloated, and it’s totally normal, don’t worry :)
