How many woman actually do this?

Get brazilian bikini waxes,
Get hair extensions,
Get professional fake tans,
Wear those body-slimming underwear stuffs.
I’m a woman in college, and I’ve never done any of that stuff. I was just wondering how common it actually is.

I think some of it is cultural and some depends on the level of vanity of the particular person. I consider myself a fairly regular person and have worn body slimming underwear under some formal dresses for a better line. Of my friends, a few "fake and bake" as we call it, but most do not. I know no one with hair extensions on a permanent basis but some have had hair "added" when having their hair done for a special occasion. I think this type of stuff is more likely to occur in LA and NYC (probably Texas and FLA as well) than it is in middle America.

I haven’t either. Though a wax maybe something I would try if I really had the time.

I only wore a slimming garment once, under a tight fitting dress. Other than that, nope.

None of the both, and never planning on it. Too fake.

Nope, I have my own beauty, not some stupid fake tans or waxing, it feels like crap!

I don’t, I prefer to let it ALL hang out ! LOL

Well.. I have hair extensions, I fake tan, i diet, i wear minimal make up, i get my bikini area waxed and i wear fake nails,
    I also have eye contacts,
this is just my life, these things make me happy,

    good question though :)
I may be one of the only people to be honest about it though..
I don’t think i am fake, I am just accentuating what i already have..

I’ve done the fake tans in the past. Usually just for a special occasion. I used to get artificial nails too, but they were pretty annoying. Looked Great but not worth the aggravation and expense of keeping them up. I live right outside of Cleveland, Ohio and I could tell you that there’s more women around here that don’t really get into all that special treatment. I guess if I lived in Los Angeles things would probably be different.

No bikini waxes – OUCH!! No hair extensions – they look too fake. I have one of those slimming things, but just for the butt, not the torso-to-thighs one – and I only wear it when I go out to a nice dinner, or whatever, and I want to fit into my outfit (hey, I’ve got two kids, we don’t get out much and the physique isn’t what it used to be). I would consider getting the fake tan, but not too dark for my skin-tone. A glow is nice – a fake burned-caramel face is not.

i go for brazillian wax.fake tans sometimes

  • ena k says:

I don’t. I couldn’t relate to all of that but then that’s just me :)

But then I guess I don’t expect anyone who does all of that to walk in to this question and admit it. In black and white it does seem alot of effort to achieve shallowness.

I live in southern California, there are alot of different lifestyles here to express. Some very natural and age appropriate and others determined to accomplishe their own version of "keeping up with the Joneses".

Yesterday, I was at a great department store sale and had to get out of the way of "her highness". The vocal kind, who if you didn’t see her entrance made sure you had benefit of her opinions. I could hear there was a "snoot" about but then eventually caught sight of someone flashing all of the above. She happened to be a Mom with her little mini-me in tow.

We see alot of diversity here so it is a life full of awareness. But the worst that women do to themselves is to let their assets go to their heads.

Otherwise, if the time comes when we would like to try one thing or another, don’t hold back but don’t loose hold of our identity.
